Erica (Poindexter) Colo'n is a native of Penns Grove, New Jersey. She has been teaching at the Child Development Laboratories for six years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, before obtaining her Master’s degree in Child Development from Michigan State University. Ms. Colon expresses a sincere passion and dedication in the work she does relating to the development of young children. She enjoys watching them flourish as they explore the world around them, and strives to find new and exciting ways to enhance their learning experiences. Ms. Colon’s special interests include literacy, children’s social development, and how they relate to developmentally appropriate practices implemented in the classroom. Ms. Colon also currently serves as the advisor of the department's Family and Child Ecology Club, supporting the professional development of University students.
