Stacy Cook: Head Teacher

Stacy Cook, Head Teacher, joins the CDL as the Head Teacher for the Child Development Program (child care.)  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with an early childhood education specialization on her teaching certificate, from Michigan State University.  Ms. Cook completed very successful student teaching experiences at the CDL and has been mentored by Head Teachers, Grace Spalding and Julie Brower, as well as Director, Laurie Linscott.  She also successfully completed a year-long student teaching internship at the Walled Lake Consolidated School District, teaching second grade.  As such, she brings direct experience with the alignment and progression of State of Michigan standards for children’s development and learning from the preschool to early elementary years. 

Ms. Cook has presented at the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC) conference on strategies for promoting children’s positive social interactions.  Her professional interests include children’s social development and the incorporation of literacy throughout the classroom.  Ms. Cook can be reached by email at cooksta2@msu.edu.
