Laurie Linscott

Laurie Linscott, CDL Director, received her Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in Elementary Education.  She earned her Masters degree from Michigan State University in Child Development.  Ms. Linscott has been a faculty member for eight years at Michigan State University.  She is an instructor in the Department of Family and Child Ecology, teaching the Student Teaching seminar.  Laurie’s 25+ year career has been spent in the field of early childhood education, teaching in both private and public school settings.  In addition to teaching, she has held positions as program director, center director, and parent consultant for Early On, a program for children with special needs, ages birth to three years.

Ms. Linscott’s personal professional interests include inclusion, family partnerships  and literacy and language development.  She has presented at local, state, and national conferences in these areas.  Ms. Linscott has a high interest in meeting the immediate and long-range needs of children and their families.  She has a commitment to quality programming for children.  In addition, Ms. Linscott  supports the Child Development Laboratories’ mission of teacher training, outreach, and research.
